There is a reason why the topic of vibe-coding<\/em> has entered the software development debate with force in recent months. Artificial Intelligence is structurally changing the way web and mobile applications are designed and built<\/strong>, breaking down prototyping time and barriers to development access.<\/p>\n

Describing a need in natural language and quickly getting a first working version of an application is no longer an exception, but a real and widespread possibility. This approach democratizes development and accelerates experimentation. However, speed does not automatically coincide with value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As projects grow, enter production and integrate into complex ecosystems, design, architectural and governance choices still-and increasingly-make the difference.<\/p>\n

AI & vibe-coding: what really changes <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The term vibe-coding<\/em><\/a>, popularized in 2025 by Andrej Karpathy, describes a prompt-first<\/em> approach to software development: you define what a system is supposed to do, AI generates the code, and the result is refined by successive iterations.<\/p>\n

This changes the starting point of digital projects<\/strong>. They no longer necessarily start from a detailed architecture, but from an AI-driven exploratory phase. It is a relevant paradigm shift, which also explains the growth of the market for application development platforms and the increasingly deep integration of generative AI into development tools.<\/p>\n

The concrete impact, however, must be read beyond the initial enthusiasm and focuses on three key dimensions:<\/p>\n

1) Time and cost: more speed, not less responsibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With AI, it becomes possible to quickly create early prototypes of software, even from high-level prompts <\/em>. This speeds up the initial stages of projects and allows more solutions to be tested in less time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, it does not mean “costless development”-work shifts. AI accelerates the creation of prototypes, but without expert guidance the risk is to quickly develop solutions that do not address real needs, <\/strong>wasting time and money. Value arises when someone can provide clear direction, turning the speed of AI into sustainable designs.<\/p>\n

2) Professionalism changes, not the need for expertise<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As AI is integrated into development, figures who understand the business and business processes<\/strong> as well as the technology become increasingly important. Their role is to guide development, define clear rules and verify that the solutions implemented are correct, secure and accessible. In this way, development is not just the technical writing of code, but the coordination of different skills and needs<\/strong> to achieve reliable results.<\/p>\n

3) Quality and risk: the real point of attention<\/strong><\/h3>\n

More speed can mean more defects if controls are lacking: hence vibe-coding<\/em> and automations must be governed with human review, testing, and safety and quality standards, especially on critical systems. In this scenario <\/strong>, people with development and delivery experience <\/strong>(architects, application managers, QA\/security, accessibility specialists), who are able to translate requirements and constraints into rules of thumb that indicate what is acceptable, what should be avoided, and how to validate properly before going into production, become decisive <\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mandatory digital accessibility: from regulatory constraint to design leverage<\/h2>\n

Making the context even more challenging is the intervention of theEuropean Accessibility Act<\/strong><\/a>, which as of June 28, 2025 imposes accessibility requirements<\/strong> on a wide range of digital products and services brought to market (websites, e-commerce, mobile applications, web apps, service platforms and digital content).<\/p>\n

For organizations, it’s not just about avoiding penalties; it’s about figuring out how to integrate accessibility structurally, without slowing innovation or multiplying costs. The key point is clear: accessibility is not “fixed” downstream; it must be designed from the beginning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In AI-assisted<\/em> rapid development contexts, this becomes even more critical. Interfaces, components, flows and content must be born already compliant, otherwise the initial speed quickly turns into technical and organizational debt.<\/p>\n

Think before you build<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One aspect remains central throughout: the ability to rapidly develop applications is not the same as the ability to build truly functional, coherent and sustainable solutions. AI can accelerate execution, but it does not replace the influence of a human vision <\/strong>that understands product and design choices.<\/p>\n

It is precisely here that they continue to make a difference, and the experience and good practice of listening to customer needs, interpreting their needs, and translating them into solutions before and after software development must necessarily remain alive. AI<\/strong>, however evolved, has no design of its own<\/strong>: it does not know the context, does not perceive the problems to be solved, and does not distinguish what is relevant from what is not.<\/p>\n

The task of people remains precisely in connecting technology to the real world, first <\/strong>with the needs of customers and second with the needs of users to understand whether what has been developed works and meets initial requirements.<\/p>\n

Roles change and development times shorten significantly, but the principle remains the same: AI expands possibilities<\/strong>, not responsibility<\/strong>.
