China–Italy Cooperation: PRAXI at the CCCIT New Year Reception in Milan

On 23 January 2026, in Milan, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Italy (CCCIT) hosted its New Year Reception for 2025–2026, bringing together more than 200 institutional representatives and members of the Chinese and Italian business communities.

The event was attended by Liu Kan, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Milan; Massimo D’Alema, former Prime Minister of Italy; Luo Jin, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Italy; as well as Cheng Xuan, President of CCCIT, and Wang Hong, Secretary General.

In his address, Consul General Liu Kan underlined the strong complementarity between the industrial strengths of China and Italy and the broad prospects for bilateral cooperation. He expressed the hope that the Chamber and its member companies would continue to seize development opportunities, further strengthening practical and mutually beneficial economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Massimo D’Alema highlighted the positive contribution of Chinese enterprises to the development of the Italian economy and, in an increasingly complex and evolving international context, reaffirmed the importance of an open and inclusive approach. He emphasized constructive cooperation as a key driver for strengthening relations between China and Italy across multiple sectors.

In his remarks, Minister Counsellor Luo Jin focused on the challenges of the current global environment, calling on Chinese enterprises operating in Italy to consolidate their presence, safeguard their legitimate interests, and enhance their capabilities in risk prevention and management. He also stressed the importance of maintaining flexibility in responding to change and promoting healthy, sustainable competition.

Prior to the gala evening, CCCIT convened the 2025 Presidents’ Committee Meeting, the Board of Directors Meeting, and the Members’ Assembly, during which several operational matters were reviewed and approved.

As an affiliate member of CCCIT, PRAXI took part in both the Members’ Assembly and the gala reception with its own delegation, represented by Xieshu Wang, China Desk Manager, and Alessandro Porta, European Trademark Attorney. PRAXI’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation among businesses, institutions, and international markets.
